MATCH TIMING : 1:40 (IST) [IST=GMT +5:30]
VENUE: HOBART
The Hobart Hurricanes have done it again, chasing down a third 200+ score against the Brisbane Heat since the tournament began. A depleted Hurricanes bowling attack was put to all corners of Blundstone Arena, with four of its five bowlers left with economy rates reading 10+. Cameron Boyce was easily the pick of them with three wickets, but it wasn’t enough to stop Brisbane recording 6/208. Hobart’s strength has always been its batting, but the entire highly rated top six needed to fire this time, which it did. When Paine went out, the score was 1/120 after 9 overs, setting the tone of a memorable victory. Unfortunately for the Hurricanes, the passionate Darren Sammy has left for West Indies duties, but has been replaced by English all-rounder Tim Bresnan.
It was arguably the Melbourne Renegades lowest point in its short history. Getting destroyed by 112 runs in a derby is hard enough, but suffering the humility of being bowled out for a record low Big Bash total is as bad as it gets. The first over gave an early indication of what was to come for the Renegades, with Wade missing a Cameron White edge and James Pattinson bowling six wides to see the score reading 0/11 off 1 legal delivery. Then came the embarrassing batting performance that garnered just one double figure score, leaving the Renegades with the unflattering total of 57. The two West Indians Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell have ended their stints and will be replaced by Shakib Al Hasan and Ben Stokes.

I think that Hobart’s odds look a tad short here, but that will happen when playing a side that is bowled out for 57. In saying that, I still feel Hobart have the edge here.
But with the inclusion of Ben Stokes & Peter Siddle I would back Melbourne Renegades.
PREDICTION: Melbourne Renegades
