M.S. Dhoni leading with a comparatively inexperienced Indian side to the world cup with only 4 of its players from the last world cup, the men in blue still looks a formidable side to retain the cup. With the exclusion of senior players like Yuvraj & zaheer the team looks well balanced as of their current performances however the experience of senior players will lack.
First time playing world cup openers Dhawan, Rohit & Rahane will have a trmendous pressure playing in foreign conditions in a world cup but with the batting skills shown by Rahane in the test series against Australia, Rahane looks a clear choice with Rohit to open the innings followed by Kohli at number 3. With a massive experience in the ODI format and being selected as the new test captian Kohli will be full of confidence and will be a X-Factor for India's batting line up along with MSD & Raina.
With 5 fast bowlers and 3 spinners selected including all rounder Stuart Binny & Ravindra Jadeja it will be a tough call for captain MSD to select the combination of the team however playing in Australian condition it will be favourable to play with a fast bowling rounder with three regualar quicks along with Ashwin/Jadeja as Suresh Raina has emerged to be a trust worthy spinner during the time of need. So Team India can take a risk of playing 4 fast bowlers.
With a team of this quality and experience the Indian Cricket Team will be in the run for retaining the cup.
